Cultural Facilities and Halls
Bunka Center (Culture Center) (common among each 7 centers)
The facility is available for various types of activities and is working
as a base of cultural enhancement and lifetime study promotion.
Facility Outline: The facilities, which are common among
each culture centers, have lecture classes, Japanese meeting
rooms, study rooms, conference rooms, recreation halls, etc.
Some centers have original facilities such as AV (audiovisual)
halls and music studio.
Application: Please apply to the each centers directly. If a
reservation was made over the phone, come to the center
within 10 days for an application procedure. An application is
accepted at any centers. Reservations of halls and recreation
halls are accepted from 6 months prior the day of use.
Reservations of others, such as meeting rooms, are accepted
from 3 months prior the day of use.
Open Hours: 9:00 - 22:00
Koto-ku Bunka Center
This is the main center among all culture centers in the city.
There are a 511-seat hall, a recreation hall with capacity of 300
persons, music studios, exhibition rooms, audiovisual rooms, art
rooms, handcraft rooms and etc.
Higashi Ojima Bunka Center
An AV (audiovisual) hall and music studios are available at this center.
Toyosu Bunka Center
This is a local center equipped with a recreation hall with
capacity of 300 persons as well as conference room and Japanese
room, and the Toyosu Public Library is also located inside.
Sunamachi Bunka Center
A multipurpose study room with capacity of 510 persons and
music rooms are available at this center. Hakyo Ishida Memorial
Hall and Sunamachi Public Library are also located inside.
Morishita Bunka Center
There are multipurpose hall, creative room, music studio, Suiho
Tagawa Norakuro Hall, Ito Shinsui/Sekine Shoji Introducing Corner,
native history exhibition room, and traditional handicrafts exhibition
room.
Furuishiba Bunka Center
A large study room with capacity of 240 persons and music studios
are available at this local center. Yasujiro Ozu Introducing
Exhibition Center and Furuishiba Public Library are also located
inside.
(Koto Cinema Plaza) Once a month, excellent films are showed.
Kameido Bunka Center
A theater with 402 seats which can be used for multipurpose
such as performance of dramas or concerts, a large study room
(the rehearsal room), meeting rooms, study rooms, Japanese
room and art room are available at this local center.
Kameido Branch Office, Commerce and Industry Information Center,
Tokyo Metropolitan Labor Consultation Center, Kameido Office
and Kameido Labor Standards Inspection Office are also located
inside.
Sogo Kumin Center (General Residents’ Center)
This is a facility of culture, education and welfare. There are various facilities for all residents, from child to aged person. Application: Please apply directly at the centers. A reservation is accepted over the phone or at each culture center.
Koto Civic Auditorium (Tiara Koto)
This large hall is one of the highest leveled halls in Japan, which provides the sound in a lofty-tone. Please utilize as a place of activities, performance and appreciation of art and culture.
Gender Equality Promotion Center (Pal City Koto)
This is a facility to serve as a base for promoting realization of a gender-equal society. It issues women’s newspaper, holds events, lends facilities and provides services such as various lecture classes, consultation and child care. The consumers’ center is also located inside. Application: Please apply directly at the center. A reservation is also accepted over the phone. The services are available for both men and women.
Education Center
This is a facility for assuring completeness and promotion of education. Application: A reservation is accepted from 2 months prior to the month of use. * Closed for repair work until June, 2005.
Seishonen (Youth) Center
This is a facility for youth or youth groups that is utilized as a base of various activities, study, training, and friendship. This is not limited only for the youth but opened to general residents also.
Resident Center
This facility is utilized for town communities’ or some groups’ meetings. The charges vary in each place and time. Application: A reservation is accepted at the branch offices from one month to one day prior to the day of use. (An application for Edagawa Center is accepted at the center)
Community Hall
This facility is utilized as the place of community, cultural activities and other purposes. The charges vary in each place and time.
Commerce and Industry Hall
This facility intends to promote the development of small businesses and of welfare for employees working in small companies in the city.
Commerce and Industry Information Center
This facility intends to promote the development of small business in the city. Especially it is specialized for their business innovation by information technologies.
